Trumps Ill-advised donation and the Opioid Crisis

Trump donated his 3rd quarter salary to The Department of Health and Human Services last week. He designated the money to go towards the education of Americans to help combat the opioid crisis. In other words he wants more government propaganda that is filled with misinformation and outright lies about compounds derived from the opioid plant. This to me is a mistake. The HHS has a trillion dollar budget and along with the War on Drugs has created a healthcare system that is broken due to the absence of true individual choice. This donation besides being given to a corrupt, bloated and inefficient government entity is also adding to the lie based hysteria called the Opioid Crisis.
Those who claim there is an Opioid Epidemic (which actually makes no sense) is based upon the 33,000 Opioid involved deaths in the last year. In reality the vast majority of these deaths are caused by black market heroin laced with fentanyl. The War on Drugs and the ridiculous prescription restriction medical cartel has contributed to these deaths. I believe every adult has the right to consume what substances they choose. When individuals are free to buy what substances they want to for their own reasons, the cost of healthcare will plummet, deaths from adulterated black market products will end and individuals will get adequate relief for their emotional and physical pain.
Trump could have donated his taxpayer salary to MAPS if he really wanted to help people. MAPS is funding research that has proven that MDMA is a great treatment for folks with PTSD and their budget is only $5.1 million. Another option for Trump’s donation would be to fund research that is aimed at reducing the top three killers of Americans which are Cardiovascular disease which kills 600,000+ per year, Cancer which kills another 600,000 and medical errors hat kill an estimated 250,000 people per year. He could have also brought much needed media attention to the tragedy of suicide in the US. Over 44,000 people per year take their own life.
The opioid crisis is merely a rebranding of the War on Drugs. With the legalization of Cannabis in many states and the backlash for their plans to Schedule I Kratom, those who profit from the War on Drugs are looking for anyway to stay relevant and maintain their levels of funding. In fact the so-called experts say that billions and billions will be needed to combat the opioid crisis. If they really wanted to eliminate a vast majority of the opioid related deaths they could tomorrow legalize heroin. Instead the CDC and the VA are setting guidelines for doctors to reduce or even eliminate the use of effective pain medications that people with pain need. This will lead more people to look to the black market, which will result in more deaths. We don’t need more government intervention in our healthcare decisions.
We definitely do not need more government propaganda that is filled with lies concerning pain medicine. What we truly need is more freedom.

Ketamine: A possible end to Suicide?

Around 44,000 people each year in the United States commits suicide. Each suicide is like a nuclear bomb dropped into the middle of a family. Devastating those closest and leaving emotional scars that last a lifetime. I once heard someone say that if you are considering suicide and you have any children in your life that love you and if you take your life it’s the same as hitting them in the skull with a hammer. It’s that devastating.

If you are thinking of killing yourself please talk to someone – stop reading and go to the resources below to get help. Make it to the next sunrise – its always better in the morning.

Below is a site that has helped me get through some tough nights.

This site is a little corny but its also been helpful when I’ve been struggling.

https://www.xojane.com/healthy/50-reasons-not-to-kill-yourself

This site has statistics as well as phone numbers to call for help.

https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/statistics/suicide/index.shtml

I’ve thought about killing myself more times than I care to admit. I’ve been really close about three times. Fortunately I had family there who helped me get through those horrifying moments of unbearable pain. That’s what suicidal thoughts are. Unbearable pain. My mind spirals out of control and the only way out to avoid the pain, to make it stop is to end my life. I figure if I’m the source of my pain, then there is only one solution to end this pain forever.

Fortunately I’ve not followed through on those suicidal thoughts and I’m still here today. I want all those 44,000 people who kill themselves each year to still be here as well. Ketamine is a miracle drug that could help to make that happen.

Ketamine acts like a chemical life preserver for those who are considering suicide. Study after study as well as anecdotal evidence is mounting that Ketamine can end suicidal thoughts in as little as twenty minutes and the effect can last weeks. I’m never going to talk to a shrink about my suicidal ideation because I know mine is clearly linked to pain and the body wide inflammation I suffer from. I can feel my mind slipping away and the darkness consumes me.

That is why I propose that Ketamine should be like all drugs, (see my post on My take on the Opioid Crisis for the reasoning behind that) should be readily available to be purchased by anyone. Ketamine is a life preserver that anyone who has ever had trouble with suicidal thoughts should have at their home. Just think instead of reaching for a gun to shoot themselves a person suffering from suicidal ideation could inject themselves with Ketamine and live to see the next sunrise.

The next five minutes or the next hour or the next sunrise is all I can hope for depending on how bad I’m feeling. Knowing that there is this life preserver I could reach out for when the darkness consumes me would provide a level of comfort and confidence that I can continue on even in the worst of times. Suffering is part of the human condition. If you are alive you will suffer. FOrtuntaley our biological architecture is positively and powerfully aided by synthetic and natural substances that can help us suffer less and even prevent us from ending our life prematurely.

Right not there are clinics offering Ketamine infusions for those who have treatment resistent depression. In emergency rooms many ER docs are using Ketamine as a first line treatment for those who are afraid they are going to harm themselves. I don’t want to have to go through my lengthy medical history or incur thousands of dollars in medical bills to get a substance I should be able to buy over the counter and administer myself.

All the time we here about the dangers of drugs. Drugs are a tool and if used correctly they can help people live longer, happier and healthier lives. A hammer is a tool as well. It can be crush a persons skull or it can help build a house. Ketamine and other drugs such as opioids are the same, simply tools. I am responsible for my own behavior and that includes when I ingest a substance.

I believe that each individual owns themselves and has a natural right to ingest what substances the he or she sees fit. It is an innate natural right no different then freedom of speech, freedom of religion or the freedom to defend oneself. I reject the argument that drugs are too dangerous. Those in power also thought having the Bible in a language the masses could read was too dangerous. When individuals don’t hold their destines in their own hands bad things happen.

Suicide has been described as a person exceeding their ability to cope with the pain of life. Having Ketamine available as a life saving device for anyone to purchase would help those who are struggling. This powerful tool to can help those suffering in the now and help them see the next sunrise. Then they can get help, talk to their families, make the changes they need to lead a healthier and happier life.

Pain is horrible. No matter if it’s emotional or physical, it is terrible. Having more tools to alleviate and ameliorate pain is a good thing. An individual feels pain. An individual should and does have a natural right to purchase or grow substances without third party authorities interfering which can help ease their suffering of in this life.

Whenever the radical idea of getting the government totally out of healthcare is brought up along with the idea of legalizing all drugs, people always say what about the addicts? What about them? Now they no longer have to go to the black market and risk death or injury from adulterated products. No longer will they have to pay the black market upcharge which prohibition naturally produces. Now they can buy the drugs they wanted at a deeply discounted price because market forces will be at work. Better yet they can buy different drugs that can stop addition in its tracks and actually help to rewire their brain. Psychedelics have been known for decades and even millennia to do this.

Very few people become addicted. Addiction is a result of genetic predispositions and malformed brain architecture. It is something that can be cured as well. Psilocybin has been shown to help people end their addictions so has Auyascha, and LSD. The very substances that are now prohibited show the most promise in helping those locked in the grips of an addiction to be rid of it forever.

Freedom allows individuals to make their own choices. Currently our health choices are being limited by politicians, government bureaucrats, the FDA, the DEA, medical licensing boards, doctors, pharmacies, insurance companies and publicly traded pharmaceutical companies. When we have Medical Freedom in this country we will be able to buy without restriction what we choose to ingest to help treat our pain or whatever disease we may have.

Information is open to everyone now. How many times have you seen your doctor pull up information on the internet to check for side effects or drug interactions? We have the information to make informed choices about what substances we choose to ingest. We would still be able to see doctors and even shrinks if we chose and they would no longer  be these all powerful health authorities. They would become more of a health consultant. Patients will become consumers. The power will be returned back to the individual, health outcomes will improve, health care costs will plummet and more and more people will avoid taking their own life.

Along with having Ketamine available over the counter another business could start up. Home health care nurses who would be on call 24/7 and who could deliver an infusion of Ketamine in the comfort of your own home. I’ve been in and out of doctor offices and hospitals for thirty years and they are the least hospitable place to recover. Being at home is the key to feeling better and truly recovering. If someone can the dangers suicidal thoughts kicked out of their head in less than twenty minutes at any time of the day that will definitely help save thousands and maybe even tens of thousands of lives each year.

Until that day, talk to your family, go to the emergency room or call a suicide helpline if you are struggling with suicidal thoughts. Make it to the next sunrise. Just focus on that.

Kratom is here to stay

I had an odd experience the other day. I visited a pharmacy and a health food store in the same day for the same reason, relief of pain. The difference was that I was able to buy the Kratom I needed at the Health Food store from friendly helpful folks, and at the Pharmacy which I’ve been using for years, told me I couldn’t get my monthly pain pills renewed because they couldn’t correctly read a calendar.

Two totally different experiences highlights what is wrong with healthcare today. In fact the U.S. Federal Government wanted to put Kratom on Schedule I last year and that would have prevented me from buying it last week. If it wasn’t for Kratom I would have suffered from the physical withdrawal symptoms that comes with stopping abrubtly opioid pain medicine.

This is my quick take on Kratom and my experiences.

(correction: in the video I mistakenly call The American Kratom Association “The Kratom Association of America”, my apologies.”

If anyone wants the real information about Kratom and the Legal battle that still is going on go to: https://www.americankratom.org

The American Kratom Association have done amazing work and still are working to keep Kratom legal. They are headed by intelligent accomplished individuals who know how to organize to stand up to government tyranny.

I highly recommend to anyone interested in advancing the cause of individual liberty, bringing down health care costs, and keeping Kratom legal check out the AKA’s press conference on 11/29/17.

It was the non-regulated market that allowed me to ease my suffering while the State mandated health care system failed to do it.  I believe that every individual has the right to ingest what substance in what amounts that they deem necessary to ease their pain and suffering. The current state sanctioned medical system has failed me over and over again to help me treat my pain over the last thirty years.

Even when I’m in the hospital I don’t have my pain managed correctly. Doctors are scared to give opioid prescriptions, pharmacies are under more and more scrutiny and they even lock away their pain pills in safes and have only one staff member who can order them.

The irony is that the banned and tightly controlled substances are some of the most effective and have the least side effects of the medicines that are currently prescribed. Kratom is a perfect example of this. Drug companies are scrambling to come out with the newest “safer” opioid pain killer. I think that is why a lot of the hysteria about the “opioid crisis” is being ginned up.

Kratom actually activates the Kappa opioid receptor. Over the next five years you’ll hear more and more about the K opioid receptor. Kratom is safe. I’ve taken it. It doesn’t help with pain as well as Trammadol and definitely not as well as Oxycontin. But it did take away the physical and mental misery of going through opioid withdrawal which I’ve been forced to go through in the past.

This time around I was able to sleep, I was able to take a daily walk, and function as a human being. If I was prohibited from buying Kratom by the DEA I would have been bed ridden and would have contemplated killing myself. I’m not exaggerating. Being in chronic pain plus going through opioid withdrawal is something I will never do again. Kratom helped me when the government regulated and licensed systems would not.

I hope that the issues that Kratom Prohibition is brining up will help others see that we should all have the ability to purchase what we want when we want. Before I took Kratom I read tons of reviews online and watched tons of testimonials of people who have used it. Suffering makes life unbearable. Being able to ease my suffering is the only reason I’m still alive.

The Politicians, the DEA, and the FDA don’t seem to care about the sick and the suffering. They would rather grandstand and repeat half truths about the Opioid Crisis while favoring the drug companies and insurance companies. I am the only one who feels my pain. I’m the only one who has his life extremely limited by my pain. I own myself and I own my suffering. I and everyone else has the natural right to ingest what substance they deem fit to help ease their suffering.

I am responsible for the relief of my suffering as well. If I choose to ingest a substance its because I’ve done my research and believe that its side effects are less than its benefits. It is truly miraculous that we have the biological machinery that benefits from synthetic and natural substances that can ameliorate pain and keep misery at bay. I don’t want to get “stoned” and do nothing. I like most people who take pain medication do so, so they can simply live.

I’m alive because of opioid pain medication. If my access to it is decreased or eliminated I will end up dead. I can’t live in pain. I won’t. And this is totally unnecessary for me even to contemplate killing myself because of pain. There are incredible medicines available that can relieve pain, help reduce anxiety, and lower inflammation. In the future we’ll be able to buy what medicines we choose without restrictions and even grow our own pharmacy in our back yards.

Once Medical Freedom is recognized health care costs will plummet. Market forces will enter the health care system and competition will drive down costs. Kratom will especially go down in price. Right now its pretty expensive because of the threat of government action against those who are importing it.

The DEA backed off when The Kratom Association of America along with millions contacted them concerning the scheduling of Kratom as a Schedule I drug. If millions demand that all drugs be made available for purchase without prescription, which is in reality a government sanctioned permission slip, they will have to submit. There are a hell of a lot more of us then there are of them.

Humans for our entire history until the last hundred years have tested medicines by using them. Cannabis, Kratom, medicinal mushrooms and extracts of the poppy plant have been tested for thousands and thousands of years by our ancestors. I find it arrogant and condescending for the head of the FDA to say

“While we remain open to the potential medicinal uses of kratom, those uses must be backed by sound science and weighed appropriately against the potential for abuse,” Gottlieb wrote.

https://www.theverge.com/2017/11/14/16649386/fda-kratom-public-health-advisory-dea-drug-scheduling-opioid-addiction

I like many people have a pioneer mindset. I don’t need a thousand studies or a panel of industry captured government officials to tell me if something is safe or not. I will weigh the evidence of my fellow humans and decide to take the risk or not. If I’m wrong and I get even sicker and die that’s my fault. More than likely I won’t.

My take on the Opioid Crisis as a chronic pain sufferer

The current hysteria over the so called Opioid Crisis is not meant to help anyone except politicians, rehab centers and pharmaceutical companies.

I’ve been suffering from chronic pain for over thirty years now. In the last three decades the only way for me to function was and still is by taking pain killers. My main relationship since I have been 11 has been with pain. Believe me that’s not a great way to live.

Government is always looking to grow. Politicians are always looking for ways to use the righteous idigination and ignorance of the masses to further their career while at the same time gaining brownie points with big business. This is exactly what is going on with the Opioid Crisis.

The 55,000 number of deaths linked to opioids is extremely misleading. The majority of those deaths have been the result of a combination of substances ingested which include alcohol and barbiturates along with the demonized opioids. Other deaths are linked to adulterated black market drugs, many pain patients are driven to this horrible alternative because they have been denied treatment. The opioid crisis is not caused by doctors prescribing pain pills to people who are in chronic pain.

This type of misinformation is always used to take away our rights and to enrich the few at our expense. A new wave of opioids that targets the Kappa opioid receptors will hit the market soon. I think that is another reason why the media attention on this is being ginned up as well.

There is no one speaking for the people who are in chronic pain. I’ve lost days, weeks months and years to pain. I’ve missed out on most of life because of pain. The more my access to pain killers is reduced the more pain I suffer and the less life I live. I believe that every individual has a god given, natural or innate right if you will to ingest whatever substance they see fit to consume.

That is why I advocate for government to get out of my healthcare all together. I don’t need a politician or my neighbor determining what I should or shouldn’t ingest. I propose what I hope will become the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution that would simply read:

Every individual has the innate and natural right to ingest, grow, consume, trade, sale or gift whatever substance they see fit.

Just because someone consumes a substance doesn’t mean they are not responsible for their actions. It doesn’t matter if I kill someone whether I’ve just smoked a joint, taken a shot of Jack Daniels or drank a strong cup of coffee, I’m still responsible for what I’ve done.

When all substances can be bought “over the counter” Pfizer and Merk and other drug companies will be just like Apple or Microsoft. I can envision them opening their own stores and even having doctors on staff that will provide medical consultations and blood work for free. That way they will attempt to keep you in their ecosystem just like Apple and Google do.

Other businesses will open up and will be the Best Buy or the Walmart of medicines. Amazon could be, if they are forward looking enough, to become the number one seller of medicine in the world. Health care costs will plummet and the first time in a long time individuals will not only be able to buy what they want to treat their specific health issues but will also be able to grow their own pharmacies in their back yard. That is real freedom.

Think about growing just about all the medicine you need in your backyard for pennies per dose? A medicinal garden could include poppies, cannabis, and medicinal mushroom. It is a miracle that our bodies have the architecture to be positively and powerfully influenced by compounds made by plants and fungi. By combining the best of synthetic and natural medicines we can all live a happier, healthier and longer life.

The behavior of Pharmaceutical companies  will have to adapt to this new era of medical freedom by providing a better product at a much lower price. Without the FDA and government sanction the drug companies will have to start dealing directly with consumers. They will be on the hunt for lower side effect drugs and price them competitively due to the huge explosion of natural medicines that would be available. Research money would more and more go into natural solutions because of their safety profile and lack of side effects. Overall medicine will become cheaper, more effective and cause less deaths and injuries.

Having ready access to pain medicine would change my life for the better. I’m tired of going to the doctor with hat in hand hoping that I’ll get a prescription, which is merely a government sanctioned permission slip. I’m tired of going to the pharmacy and getting hassled because they aren’t able to read a calendar correctly. I’m tired of having to go to multiple pharmacies to get a prescription filled because their out of the pain medicine and their pharmacist is the only one who can order narcotics and he’s on vacation for the week. When you are sick and in pain these type of hassles add to your already mounting misery.

Those harping on the Opioid Crisis may care about those that are dying. But if they really wanted to use their time to the best effect they should be talking about Cigarettes which kill around 400,000 people a year, or alcohol which causes the death of  around 90,000 people  or so per year, or sugar and grain which can cause cardio vascular disease which kills millions per year. It’s clearly not about the numbers of dead that the opioid crisis do gooders are concerned about or they would be going after the big killers in this country.

Sick people are easy targets. Doctors are easy to manipulate because of the state licensing they are subject to. With the new era of Medical Freedom I’m proposing doctors could become health consultants and no longer be beholden to the current state monopoly on certifying health professionals. If doctors want to continue with the current model they could. They could be paid directly by the pharmaceutical companies and become doctors at the Pfizer store. Once doctors and patients are no longer tethered to the prescription pad or state licensing boards, politicians will lose the power to interfere with our health choices and people in pain will not have to suffer needlessly.

Its time we get government out of health care. Its time for adults to take control over their health, to exercise our innate right of self-ownership and buy whatever medicine or substance we choose to. Individuals suffer. And individuals pay the consequence of their actions. We all have the right to ingest what we choose. If the First Amendment of the Constitution protects our right to eject words out of our mouths, shouldn’t  the Constitution protect our right to put into our mouth whatever we choose?

Suffering is part of the human condition. We all suffer emotionally and physically. On this space ship Earth we have synthetic and natural compounds that can help ease the suffering. Psilocybin has proven to help with anxiety and can help end addiction, MDMA can help with PTSD, LSD can help end alcoholism, Ketamine can in less than twenty minutes end suicidal thoughts, Cannabis that miracle plant, is full of beneficial compounds that work together to help lower inflammation, reduce anxiety, increase well being, end seizures, reduce tumor size and help with sleep, and new and old opioids can help end the physical suffering of millions. Why can’t I go buy these chemicals off the shelf or order them off of Amazon? It’s not because they are expensive. Why can’t I grow medicinal mushrooms, poppy plants and Cannabis in my backyard? It’s not because they are difficult to grow.

The real reason we don’t have Medical Freedom is because we’ve forgotten that every individual owns themselves and that we have a natural right to treat our pain or our diseases as we see fit and so we must demand our innate right to ingest what we choose and bear the consequences of those choices.

3 Ways to Enjoy more External Freedom

This blog is about increasing your choices in life and creating more internal peace at the same time.  That is what I mean by Internal and External Freedom. Debt, corporate jobs, debit cards are all ways that the financial and government interests profit from and control. The more control they have the less freedom we enjoy. These are three ways that I’m increasing the freedom I enjoy. Two of the three will take time, but the first step to enjoying more freedom can be done right now.

  1. Cash is King – I use cash as much as possible. It keeps banks from profiting from interchange fees and keeps my transactions anonymous. The Federal Reserve System, Wall Street and the Banking Industry are propped up by the FDIC and tax payers. They are allowed to profit while the rest of us suffer when they destroy the economy because of their criminal business practices. If you think the TARP bailouts were wrong, if you think that the Stock Market is rigged, if you think fractional reserve banking is a scam – then use cash. This is a way to vote with your dollars to defund the Banksters and in turn the politicians who receive “speaking fees” and donations. Cash also allows for anonymous transactions. I used to work at a bank. Every time you swipe your debit card you are creating an entry on you bank statement that every person in the bank can view and it creates a paper trail for any number of  government agencies to view as well. Bank customers are regularly “audited” by bank employees without their knowledge. Any suspicious activity is then forwarded to authorities. Bank statements are also frequently subpoenaed for all types of civil and criminal cases. I’m not advocating breaking the law or that everyone who uses cash is a criminal. But think about why politicians and banks are always pushing for people to use debit cards and get the “underbanked” into the system? It’s not for our benefit. When I use cash I am voting with my dollars. I know it’s still using the “Federal Reserve Note” but until a competing currency is legalized this is my choice to live more free. Bitcoin and Dash coin are two interesting options that I’m going to look into as well.
  2. Make your own Income – Being able to generate your own income without a boss is a critical step toward improving your external freedom. Don’t quit your job until your side hustle is equivalent to your current income. If you are not sure what to do, spend the next five days visualizing what it would be like to be your own boss, keep what you earn, and what your life would be like if you were thrilled and excited to wake up everyday. The first step toward success is believing that you can do it. Set up criteria for how you want to live your life, how you want to spend your day, and why you are doing this. Find something you enjoy or that you know a lot about and begin today. It might take two, five or ten years but it will take longer if you wait till “Monday” to start. Once you are in charge of your own income you no longer have to conform to the corporate PC bullshit world, get yelled at by uncaring bosses, or have to be yelled at by customers because of changing policies instituted by a board of directors who are never have to deal directly with the people who fund their lavish lifestyles. You can live your life on your own terms more and more and it can start today. That is what this blog is all about. Sparking personal revolutions so that more and more people can live more free. I recommend reading “Rich Dad Poor Dad” on kindle. You can get it for less than $5 and you can start reading it now. This book helped me to change my mindset of a drone to an owner. https://www.amazon.com/Rich-Dad-Poor-Robert-Kiyosaki-ebook/dp/B004XZR63M
  3. Pay off Debt – One of the best ways to do this is to free yourself from your mortgage or better yet never get one. The 30 year mortgage is how the government/financial institutions control the masses. They use this to keep people stuck. Stuck in jobs they hate and stuck in areas that they would rather leave. My answer to the mortgage question is to buy or build a tiny home on a trailer. I am setting my budget at $25,ooo and I’m paying cash for it as soon as I can. I’m going to travel the country set up shop where I want to and then go where the wind takes me. This is why I’m choosing to work for myself and choosing work I can do anywhere and still create income. By being mobile I’m no longer a slave to zoning laws or building codes. I’m not a slave to a bank. I’m not a slave to “housing prices” that are manipulated and can be destroyed by those in power. We are descendants of hunter/gatherers who had to be mobile because game moved, the seasons changed, plants produced fruit at different times of the year in different locations, and hostile tribes invaded.  We are built to be mobile. Modern society has all of these chains thrown around us that we help them put on to keep us enslaved and in place. This causes our well-being, our economy and our families livelihood to become intertwined and to a large degree dependent on the actions of a few individuals in the Federal Reserve, in the Financial System and in Government. By buying a tiny home I am rejecting the “American Dream” and embracing the “Brad Dream”.

My external freedom plan is still in progress and it will never be complete. Life is a journey. I used to get so frustrated that I couldn’t do anything to become more free because of the government or because of the debt I was in or because I needed insurance and had to work a job I hated. By choosing to use cash even though I’m still not where I want to be in life helps me to feel more liberated. If you can’t do anything else for a year then do that. It takes a little getting used to and people actually look at you funny when you use it but it is a liberating feeling knowing you are depriving banksters of profit and increasing your financial privacy at the same time.

I’m still working on generating my own income. I’ve chosen blogging, podcasting, primal health coaching and in the near future personal training as ways of generating my own income.  I don’t advise you to quit your job right away. Read about how other people are living on their own terms, become more mentally free by visualizing what life you truly desire to live, and take small steps each day to make it happen. There will be failure, there will be frustration and it will feel scary. Internal freedom is the first step to external freedom because it builds the mental infrastructure and perspective to take calculated risks and persevere when you step out into the unknown. Personal development, communication skills, interpersonal skills, selling skills and physical strength and fitness are all elements that you can improve in the interim even if you don’t know what your own business will be. The more you improve yourself the quicker you’ll be able to say to your boss that “you are done eating shit sandwiches” and that you are making it on your own.
There are tons of shows on HGTV and DIY that showcase tiny homes. This is not for everyone I understand that. But think about all the space that is not used in your home. Think about how many hours you’ve had to work to pay the mortgage, to pay for repairs, to pay for insurance, to pay for property taxes? Now think about 2008 when most home prices were cut in half because of the choices of the Banksters and the Government. I don’t want the value of my biggest investment (according to society)  to be controlled by others. A traditional home is really a liability and not an investment anyway. That is another lie sold to us by the bankseters and politicians. A tiny home allows me to be more free from debt, from others controlling my location, my net worth, and my ability to live my life on my own terms. I’m also looking forward to the limited space because it will encourage me to spend my time and money on experiences and enjoying the company of friends and families instead of buying and acquiring things.

The powers that be want us to think that everything is disconnected, that our diets, our health, religion, banking, home ownership, taxes, zoning laws, building codes, our work life, how and what we think, where we live, and our attitude are not interconnected. But it is all connected. These external and internal forces are always working to shape our decisions in the direction of more freedom for us or more freedom for others at our expense. There are the ambitious and interested individuals in the Financial World and the Government that want us to be enslaved, confused, compliant and distracted. The more control they get the less freedom and less choices we have. By taking these three steps I am increasing both my internal and external freedom and at the same time helping improve my health and helping others lead a freer and healthier life as well. When you are more free in different areas of your life, you are taking back control from those that are profiting by your enslavement. My plan is still evolving. Even though creating a thriving business is still months away and my tiny home is probably over a year away I’m more and more free in the moment when I visualize living life on my own terms, I’m more and more free every time I take a small step to make these things happen and I’m more and more free in the moment when I choose to pay at the gas station with cash instead of using my debit card.

It may seem hopeless that one person can effect change on a national or global level. But it’s not. When one person decides to become free and sets an example  it can cause the spark that ignites the personal revolution of millions. And if its not me who does that I hope that my my writings, my thoughts and my actions help spark the revolution of the person who does reach millions. Don’t doubt your ability to change your own life for the better. Don’t doubt your influence. Don’t doubt that you can live a freer life and don’t doubt that it can begin today.

Freedom begins in the mind
Brad Miller

Internal Locus of Control

Internal and external freedom is predicated on the fact that you have internalized the knowledge that you own yourself. Part of this realization that you own yourself is that you are also responsible for yourself. This is the key principle behind the concept of having an Internal Locus of Control. Your own desires, your own wants, your own needs, your own abilities, your own experiments of action, determine how you are going to live your life. By having an Internal Locus of Control you are throwing off the last of the mental shackles that can keep you from living a life of a free person. Your fate is in your hands.

The opposite of having an Internal Locus of Control is having an External Locus of Control. This is when others determine what you think, how you act, what your priorities are and what you have and experience in life. Part of having an External Locus of Control is giving up your inherent right of self-ownership and allowing others to make decisions for you. This can mean that you place your External Locus of Control within family members, the church, your peer group or the government. All of these choices create the shackles of helplessness that destroy internal and external freedom.

External Freedom only exists when Internal Freedom is realized. If you allow your mind to remain shackled by the will of others and you believe that your fate is in their hands or that external events determine the outcomes of your life then your will never be free. Don’t give people that power. Decide today that you and you alone determine your course in life. That you have control on how your life turns out. That you are the captain of your ship. You are the motive power as Ayn Rand was found of saying for your life. You have more of a capacity to create, to invent, to persuade, to communicate, to build and to love than you can imagine. You alone are best able to determine how your life should be spent and how to achieve what you desire.

Freedom can be a scary thing at first. I remember when I stopped believing in god. My first thought was what’s going to happen when I stop praying? Will horrible things start occurring? It didn’t. Life went on. In fact I was happier because I wasn’t waiting around for some invisible bearded man to find me “worthy” to grant my wishes. I was free to use my abilities to improve my life instead of waiting on an outside force to intervene. It also freed me from the guilt of “sinning” as well and the fear of hell. You don’t know how these concepts distort your thinking and how you interact with others and see the world until you throw off these mental shackles.

Along with religion I also through off the shackles of the belief that government was a force for good in the world. For me as my internal locus of control increased and became stronger I became more and more suspicious of all the authoritarian constructs. The concept of government is based upon the concept of Collectivism. Ayn Rand in her short essay “Textbook of Americanism” broke down the difference between “collectivism” and Individualism”.

The basic issue in the world today is between two principles: Individualism and Collectivism.
Individualism holds that man has inalienable rights which cannot be taken away from him by any other man, nor by any number, group or collective of other men. Therefore, each man exists by his own right and for his own sake, not for the sake of the group.
Collectivism holds that man has no rights; that his work, his body and his personality belong to the group; that the group can do with him as it pleases, in any manner it pleases, for the sake of whatever it decides to be its own welfare. Therefore, each man exists only by the permission of the group and for the sake of the group.
These two principles are the roots of two opposite social systems. The basic issue of the world today is between these two systems.

http://laissez-fairerepublic.com/textbook.htm

Not only are these two concepts at the roots of tow opposite social systems they are also key components of the two competing ways of thinking. Individualism is associated with having an Internal Locus of Control and Collectivisms demands that your will be subjugated by the government and thus is a key reason why most people today have an External Locus of Control. Their life choices are largely determined by others. They allow others to determine the direction and the limits of their life.

Religion and government are the two biggest reasons why most individuals have an external locus of control. If you want true Internal and External Freedom you have to avoid that. Only when you have an Internal Locus of Control can you being to be free. Having an internal locus of control encourages you to seek out solutions, to be kinder to others, to enlist your full mental machinery, to build your network, to increase your knowledge, and to grow as a human being. When we accept we are the captains of our ship and the masters of our fate then we pour all of our mental and physical energies into creating the life that we desire.

When we believe that our actions don’t have meaning and that our fate is determined by our environment, the majority, by those smarter than us, by our bosses, by the economy, by the next election, by an invisible bearded voyeuristic man, we  are giving up our power and sinking into apathy, fear, and hopelessness. Having an Internal Locus of Control simply means you understand that you own yourself, you are capable of taking care of yourself and that you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Individualism and having an Internal Locus of Control doesn’t mean that you don’t cooperate with others to accomplish things that benefit all involved. It doesn’t mean that you use force to compel others to do what you say or that you are a loner who doesn’t need the help of anyone. Having an Internal Locus of Control doesn’t mean you live as a hermit or as a tyrant. The recognition that you own yourself also informs you that others own themselves as well. So the only self imposed shackles that you place upon yourself is to restrain the use of force for self-defense only. All actions that are peaceful are permissible in the achievement of your goals. If you deny the self-ownership and Internal Locus of Control of others than you deny it in yourself as well.

What do you believe? Do you want to be internally free? Do you want to have more external freedom? By having an External Locus of Control gives people excuses why their life isn’t what they want. They can sit around and complain to others like themselves about how everyone is against them and how the world is screwing them over. But they fail to realize they have given up the steering wheel of their life to others.  The world is full of preachers, policeman, corporations, and politicians who profit greatly from telling people what to think and what to do. They benefit from stealing your money and your life. But in reality their not stealing because you are willingly giving your Locus of Control to them. Don’t let fear destroy your freedom. Don’t let fear keep you from trying to improve your life. Don’t let fear keep you stuck in a rut that makes you want to turn over your life outcome to someone else.

If you live in a country that is overrun with a dictatorship or massive government intervention in your life you have choices. Unfortunately the trend around the world is for government to take more property and more freedom from individuals no matter where you live. Most people think they have no choice or they applaud the take over of their lives by those in power. If you are reading this you are not one of those people but don’t fall into despair. Remember your life and your fate are in your hands. Visualize a better life. Take actions each day to improve your life. Don’t fall into the trap of complaining or arguing over surface issues. Dig deep to the root of the issues in your own life and the issues in society. I guarantee you they all boil down to the two competing concepts of Individualism vs. Collectivism and the difference between having an Internal Locus of Control vs. an External Locus of Control.

No matter what circumstances you have going on you can improve your life. You have the power to do this. When you confidently move in a direction opportunities open up. Be ready for them. If you are not feeling well or have health issues take a step today in improving that, if your finances are troubling you make a plan today to increase your income, if you are lonely begin a program of self improvement. It is our thoughts and our actions that determine our fate. Don’t give power to those who want to oppress you. Throw open the locked door in your mind where your Internal Locus of Control sits. Hit the start button and watch it come to life. Soon your whole being and existence will be filled with its power coursing through you like lightning. As your mind becomes more and more free, you’ll begin improving your life more and more and thus creating your own external freedom without waiting on others to provide it for you.

Self-Ownership and the War on Drugs

Self-Ownership is the inherent right that every individual owns. It is a right that simply means you are sovereign over your own body and over your own mind. No one owns you except yourself. Your right of self-ownership is not granted by the government or even by a majority of your friends and neighbors. It is a right every individual is born with.

The inherent right of Self-Ownership is the basis for all of human freedom. The Drug War is one of the most obvious ways that governments violate this natural right in horrific ways across the globe. The War on Drugs is a war against individual liberty and the right of self-ownership. Every adult has the right to choose to consume a “drug” or not consume it. No government or majority of their friends and neighbors has a right to use force to  prevent others from exercising their inherent right to consume or not consume a substance.

Individual Liberty is all about choice. With choice also comes responsibility. My choices are my own. If what I consume benefits me or causes me harm, I am the one responsible for that choice. The War on Drugs is a war on your thoughts. You decision to ingest a substance that you believe it will make you feel better or help you to enjoy life more begins with your thoughts. Drug Prohibition is a war on your internal thoughts.  Cannabis is a perfect example of a non-toxic healing plant that governments around the world have arrested, imprisoned and murdered individuals for growing and consuming. It is an extremely beneficial plant that everyone should have the freedom to consume or not to consume. But governments around the world prohibit your from discovering for yourself if this is a helpful substance or not.

Governments around the world want us to think that they own us. If they can tell us what we can and can’t consume, what we can and can’t grow, or what we can or can’t produce, then they are controlling our thoughts and our actions, and control denotes ownership. They belief that they own every individual that lives within their arbitrary borders and they use all of their power to control them. Remember every government action, regulation, ticket, fine, and law are all enforced with the barrel of a gun, or more accurately enforced by the barrel of millions of guns. Trillions have been spent trying to irradiate drugs, imprison drug growers, drug sellers and drug users. The question must be asked: Why do they think they own us and why do they want to control us?
Why are the governments around the world so hell bent on stamping out Cannabis, Cocaine, MDMA, psilocybin, and DMT? Why is it they rubber stamp through Government agencies like the FDA drugs that are infinitely more dangerous than the ones they are saying we need to be saved from? It all boils down to power. The FDA is used by big pharmaceutical companies to give legal status to their dangerous drugs while safer natural cheaper alternatives are kept illegal. They are getting concerned because people are beginning to catch on.

What if you could grow your own medicine in your back yard? How would that effect the pharmaceutical companies, doctors, medical schools, the myriad of bureaucracies that regulate your healthcare and what would happen to all the millions of people around the world in law enforcement which make a living by arresting, imprisoning, and killing drug sellers and drug users? It all boils down to money and power. The government doesn’t care about your health or well being. Most people in government care only for their self-interest, their next promotion, the enlargement of their department and their retirement fund. They secure all of this by exerting more and more control over the thoughts and actions of individuals. This is most obvious when it comes to those who are dedicated to the War on Drugs.

We all have the inherent right to grow Cannabis, Poppy Plants, and Coca Plants if we choose. We have the inherent right to produce Hash from Cannabis,  Morphine from Poppy Plants, and Cocaine from Coca plants.  We are not owned by the government. We do not exist for the continuation or support of the government. Government was supposed to be instituted to protect our inherent rights from being violated by others. What it has become is the prime violator of individual freedom in the world today.

There is no place on Earth where there is no government. There is no place on Earth where a government’s main and only purpose is to protect your inherent rights of Liberty. Every government on Earth violates your inherent rights by prohibiting your consumption of certain substances it has deemed “illegal”. When the government regulates your choices it is violating your freedom. Every adult individual has the right to choose what he or she will put into their own bodies. We do not need the force of government to prohibit us from consuming something we think will be beneficial for ourselves. The first step to overthrowing the shackles of government no matter where you live is to first understand the concept of Self-Ownership and inherent rights we all have. This is the first step in establishing Internal Freedom.

Psilocybin, LSD, Cannabis and MDMA have been a great help a help to millions of people around the world and if everyone could freely exercise their inherent right of self-ownership, millions more could be helped. The benefit versus risk analysis is for the individual to make. It makes no difference if an individual has ingested a substance or not and violates another person’s rights, they are just as guilty as the person who does the same thing but hasn’t consumed a substance the government doesn’t approve of.  Government should only intervene when a crime has been committed which means, that someone violated another person’s freedom, life or property.

The War on Drugs is a war against certain drugs that people could grow in their garden and that are extremely helpful for everything from PTSD to chronic pain. These substances should be and one day will be legal everywhere on Earth to consume. People will eventually regain their  freedom to choose what to consume without the fear of being thrown in prison, their property stolen or their life ended. You own yourself. You have the inherent right to consume what you think will help you live a better life. No one knows your body or mind better than you do. We are all so different that we should all demand the freedom to consume what we choose to because everyone’s life situation is so different and everyone’s body and mind react differently to different substances.

The time is ripe for people around the world to begin freeing themselves internally. Millions are already on this path and millions more are joining those who are already internally free. The War on Drugs is fading. The individuals in Colorado, Alaska, Washington and Oregon have shown that individuals have the power to reassert their inherent right of consumption and thumbed their noses at the Federal Prohibition of Cannabis. It is happening more and more in The United States and around the world.

There is more and more people that are demanding external freedom now. Governments no longer control the information distribution channels. They no longer have a monopoly on the news. Every citizen is now a journalist, every citizen can learn for themselves about medicine and make their own decisions, every individual can connect to anyone around the world and hear their story about how a certain substance affected them. Governments are losing the information war. They want us scared, they want us to submit, they want us to be silent . They want us to  accept the fact that they can steal as much money from us through taxation as they want while believing that they own us and can tell us what we can and can’t do with our bodies and our minds.

Freedom is the future.

Break the Internal Chains and the External one’s will fall away

I am writing this blog because I want to live free. I believe the only way to live free in the world is first to have internal freedom. That means freeing my mind of the mental chains of  self-hate, self-doubt, vacillation, and apathy which leads to external chains that limit my life. By ridding myself of my internal chians I am freeing myself to explore more and more of what I am truly capable of. Every mental chain I break equates to more internal freedom which will be expressed into reality and create more external freedom. The two are inseparably linked.

Once enough people in the world  are internally free from  their self-doubt, their self-hate and once they embrace their lives as individuals, they will seek to eliminate the external chains which are now visible to them. These external chains come in many forms but the biggest enslaver on the planet is Government.  I believe that only peaceful voluntary interactions should take place. No external coercion should be allowed, especially by Government.

But External Freedom can also be debt. It is another form of enslavement. But that enslavement like Government begins within each individual’s  mental world. By clearing away the chains of uncertainty, timidity and doubt individuals can move forward down the path they have chosen as long as they do not violate the natural rights of others, with less and less external chains impeding their progress.

I want to be free myself and the only way to do that is to first free my internal world, then help others do the same and from that external freedom will naturally follow.

I want everyone on Earth to Live Free. I want to live in a world where 7 billion individuals are pursuing their definition of happiness and producing goods and services that others value in order to achieve their dreams. Think about 7 billion individuals participating in a world-wide Free Market. Think about the billions of inventions that haven’t yet seen the light of day. And when more and more people free their mind’s internally they will not seek to externally enslave other individuals. As mutually beneficial voluntary transactions increase violent coercive transactions will decrease.

I do not seek a Utopia because Human Beings are still Human. But the idea that there should not be a goal of a better, more peaceful, more prosperous, more free world to work towards in my opinion is insanity. It lessens the meaning of every action you take because it accepts the current chains we currently suffer under. Some say in the end it doesn’t matter becaues we  will all die. We will all die that’s true. But why not live? Live as free as possible, to love as much as possible, to create as much as possible, and become as much as possible of the person you are capable of becoming? THat is what I choose. And in order to achieve that I believe I need to be free in order to live my greatest life possible.

I draw a lot from the Stoic Philosophers, Ayn Rand, Murray Rothbard, Emerson, Thoreau, Locke, and Hemingway. I believe in Individualism, I believe in Natural Rights, I believe that individuals know how to live their lives and do not need politicians and bureaucrats telling them how to live.

This is my journey to internal freedom that will in turn make the external freedom I seek for myself and others more and more abundant. I am a Radical Individualist, I believe in Peace, Love, and Hard Work. I believe that by serving others I serve myself. I believe that you should not seek love but be love. I believe that no one has a prior lien on anything I produce, I believe that I own myself and can do anything peaceful I desire.

I am a long way from being Internally Free but I’ve made a lot of strides in the last few years. If you’ve ever struggled with having the courage to talk with a girl, feel like you’ll never become the person you think you can be, or are constantly vacillating about the priorities in your life, or you want to just be left alone to live the life you want to live, check my blog out.  I do not want to tell anyone how to live. I don’t have all the answers and that’s exactly the point. No one does. That is why Freedom is so precious and valuable. I just want everyone to be free in order to figure it out their lives themselves. That is my mission. That is my life’s work.

My Life ,as a girl I know taught me, is “EPIC”.  Everyone’s Life is EPIC. Live everyday to the fullest and the only way that you can to do that is to first break those internal chains which currently bind your mental world, and once you do that the external chains that hold you back will begin to fall away.

Remember you can not go down two roads at the same time. If you try you will go nowhere. Take your first step today down the road that you choose.
